Leaps and Bounds

Early intervention services are offered through our Leaps & Bounds program. Leaps & Bounds combines educational and therapeutic approaches to foster the overall growth and development of children in preparation for preschool and community-based programs. In an inclusive setting similar to most preschools, this enriched program is designed for children ages 18 months to 3 years who have been identified to be at-risk for developmental delays. After an assessment, individualized needs are addressed according to the development of goals for each child. To enhance the developmental outcome for the toddlers, Leaps & Bounds focuses on four specialized centers: sensory motor, cognition, gross motor and pre-speech/oral motor. Like other preschool classrooms, children participate in circle time, educational play and snack time. Unique in its design, the classrooms are staffed with a multidisciplinary team of professional occupational, physical and speech therapists, teachers, and teacher's assistants.

Leaps & Bounds classes are scheduled as follows:

Morning Session: 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday - Friday

Afternoon Session: Noon to 3:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday

Pediatric Therapy Network also offers to our Leaps & Bounds families:

  • Home visits by our therapists to collaborate with families in order to ensure a developmentally enriched natural environment.
  • Leaping Out services which allow children to be accompanied by staff to a selected traditional preschool facilitate successful participation and social interaction with their peers.
